This morning John McCain spoke in Reno, Nevada one event was a rally and another was a private fundraising event. At both events, McCain continued to back Bush’s “stay the course” plan for Iraq while still trying to get Obama to take a trip with him.

Senator McCain feels that Obama calling for an end to the war, that our government says is not really a “war” would change if only he would take a trip with McCain over there to see all the good that the American troops have done. Interestingly enough, this is the same man who went all over American TV saying how safe it was over there that he could walk around feely with no fear only to be seen weeks later on video walking around surrounded by Marines and covered in Kevlar.

McCain said in Reno: “Obama has done shockingly little to educate himself firsthand about the war in Iraq. Instead, he displays an arrogant certainty gained on the campaign trail. … Obama’s failure to visit Iraq, listen and learn firsthand and witness the surge’s progress demonstrates weak leadership that disqualifies him from being commander in chief.”

Hmmm…because learning first hand and then lying to the American people and the world makes McCain any better for being commander in chief?
